MISSION STATEMENT
Metropolitan Gymnastics is committed to the future of the community and our students by bringing together fun, fitness, and friends. Our mission is to help our students prepare for real-life experiences through gymnastics by creating positive attitudes, building physically fit bodies, learning self-awareness & discipline, developing confidence and high self-esteem as well as learning how to set and achieve goals. Our goal is for each individual gymnast to reach their full potential.
ABOUT XCEL
The Xcel Program is a competitive team program established by USA Gymnastics in 2013 as an alternative option to the original standardized-level “Development Program”. The goal of the Xcel Program is to allow more flexibility to gymnasts and coaches, including individualized routines with multiple skill options and multiple time commitment enrollment options.
The Xcel Program focus is on correct technique, form, and performance artistry; while allowing gymnasts to increase their
skill difficulty at their own pace. The Xcel Program is structured with “Divisions” which allow a broad range of skill difficultly options to fulfill routine requirements within each Division, including easier and more challenging skill difficulty options. Gymnasts with their coaches’ guidance can upgrade or simplify the skills within each routine at any time during the competition season, while fulfilling their “Special Requirements” and performing skills within the allowed skill difficulty range for their Division.
The goal of the Metropolitan Gymnastics Xcel Program is to allow athletes a rewarding team-focused youth sport competitive gymnastics experience that can continue throughout high school and beyond. We encourage sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and fun.
Metropolitan has a strong Xcel Program with award-winning teams and gymnasts. Athletes who qualify will have the opportunity to compete at Championships meet(s) for their Division. Our Xcel Program has won many team and individual champion titles at State, Regional and national Xcel Championships.
Metropolitan’s Xcel Program is great option for gymnasts who are looking for a rewarding competitive gymnastics experience that focuses on both the individual and team.
