We are so excited to offer the much sought after Trampoline and Tumbling classes. Come and learn basic bounce, body positioning, rotations and twists while focusing on safety and control. You’ll experience greater strength, flexibility, agility, and co-ordination to perform the trampoline aerial maneuvers. We have many trampolines on which to practice and drills will be set up to encourage strength conditioning, flexibility, and proper body alignment. While classes are combined with all levels at this time, progression will be taught and more advanced students will be introduced to more difficult skills and skill combinations.
WHO does Trampoline benefit?
We encourage anybody to try the class! However, those athletes involved in sports such as gymnastics, cheer, tumbling, water-skiers and wake-boarders, snow-skiers and snow-boarders can really hone in on their skills with these classes. WHAT is Tramopolining?
Well the first modern trampoline was built by two gentlemen in the 1930’s. George Nissan, a gymnast and diver and Larry Griswold, a tumbler who both competed at the University of Iowa. They got the idea to build the trampoline after observing the trapeze artists utilize their netting to add to the entertainment. Trampolining is a competitive rebounding sport including jumps in a tuck, pike, or straddle positions to the more complex combinations of somersaults, rotations, and twists. The trampoline competitions began in both the USA and Europe and by 1954 were more codified such that the 10 bounce routine was the norm. It was not until January 1st 1999 that Trampolining became a recognized discipline of gymnastics at the Olympics.
